Four of the talks and the debate at the end of the book launch in April are now uploaded here.
To mark the publication of Energy People Buildings: Making Sustainable Architecture Work, authors Judit Kimpian, Hattie Hartman and Sofie Pelsmakers invite three experts to share their experience of building performance feedback and why feedback is critical to meet 2030 targets.
Growing evidence about the performance gap, the disparity between expected and actual building performance, is seriously compromising the sustainable design agenda. The performance gap affects design quality and undermines building life span. It also impacts on energy, maintenance, and mitigation costs, and leads to increased carbon emissions. Equally important but less recognised is its effect on indoor environmental comfort and occupant health and well-being.Feedback from completed projects is essential to close this gap and to design our way out of the climate crisis. The panel, including two of the authors, will discuss how feedback leads to inspiring architecture that works. Presentations will be followed by a discussion among the speakers and a Q&A with the audience.
